Hey Aaron,

regarding nesting files on iDVD:

go to Advanced/ Edit DVD-ROM contents/ drop your files in a folder there!

Then when you burn a copy it should be available alongside the Audio and Visual sub folders

That all sounds exciting, I'm really intrigued as to how your score sounds!

THX is pretty dark and relevant viewing for anyone remotely socially concerned about our current civilisation.

Did you upload your initial movie into logic as an flv, rather than a mp4? If so, that was a problem that occured last week and resulted in no audio playback.

Regarding theremin's, you should just book out the one at the uni, it's a lot of fun and you can get a ridiculous amount of samples from it!

But if you're set trying to ectype that sound through midi, you could try automating tremolo effects and extreme dynamic automations to a sine wave synth, then re record that sound through some speakers for a more vintage crackly sound?

Take care mr. :)

Hello Arran. Thanks for your feedback. About your questions in that comment: 1) you're right, my video is over a minute, exactely 1:08. I think it's ok but I'll ask to Julio; 2) I've recorded just the yawning, the rest is from Logic. I've also used a brass instrument from my Yamaha TG500.
Cheers, Giuseppe

Hi Arran, I've watched your video. I think that potentially you can present a nice task adding some sound or effect linked to the animation. For instance, in 00:18 there are two explosions without sound reference. Your music doesn't sound 'midi', but sound in YouTube is crummy as anybody knows. Piano in 0:25-0:26 seems to go too fast, maybe it doesn't sound so human.

Best

I found todays lecture very informative and a clear description of the tasks we will be working on. Being a Film student also, I think I have found the perfect outlet for both of those courses to collide. The animation task is the one I found most interesting after previewing previous students work. I look forward to getting my hands on that task.

Having worked with soundtrack to short film in my second semester last year. I am very anxious to gain a more productive knowledge on what works where and why.

Cheers,
Arran
